DEVILS HAND SPIKES

"I have this little devil's hand frag, and a few days ago, it grew white and red spikes that are emerging from it. It's probably not the swaying tentacles since they don't move at all; these spikes resemble something else. Do you have any idea what it could be? Could they be spicules?"
