We are in the planning stages of designing a steel frame for a SCA 150. The tank measures 60x24x24 and we are planning on making the stand 60x24x36 which will exclude a center brace in the front. We will also be adding CasterHQ leveling casters so we can drain the tank down some and move it if needed. I have a few questions for those who have taken on a similar task in the past.

1. The plan is to use 2"x2"x3/16" material. Will this hold the load over the 60" span? Or will it be necessary to upgrade to 2"x3"x3/16" material for these spans?
2. To spread the floor load over 6 points instead of 4, we will be adding leveling feet in the middle of the two 60" spans. One on both the front and rear. Will the 2"x2" material provide enough strength to transfer a portion of the load to the leveling feet with little to no deflection? Or again will it be necessary to upgrade to 2"x3"x3/16" material?

Thanks in advance for all feedback.

I just had a stand built for my SCA 150. It’s 2x2 steel, 1/4” (maybe? Can’t remember). 38” tall. The top matches the tank, 60” x 24”, base is 60” x 30”. I don’t have any leveling feet; I plan on just shimming it across the front.
