I would choose the 1000 Series, because the size fits my current 170 gallon (tank) + 55 gallon (sump) = 225 total gallon water volume. Even with the slightly bigger footprint, it will still fit in my sump no problem.

Th 600 series skimmer would be an amazing upgrade.
