So I got tired of the cloudy water from NOPOX and bacteria blooms...

went to my local saltwater shop and bought a green killing machine UV light. It’s 24w.

its been 5 hours and my tank is finally crystal clear. Amazin. I have never used a UV. But I am amazed. I know it’s not top of line but for $70 job well done

Finally have my ALK and PO4 completely stable.
pH still an issue. Not chasing numbers just wish it was higher

i am starting to think my probe is off but this is my second one and still getting the same results around 7.96. Although all my manual tests says 8.2

Hmmm. I run homemade NoPox every day and no bloom. Did you start low and build up over time?

I went with what redsea recommended.

my nitrates were at 30.

now consistently at 4 and I am dosing 3ml of NOPOX. Redsea‘s handbook says I should get them down to 1-2 so I am thinking about slowly increasing my NOPOX dose. But I have also read that I am good with my nitrates at 4.

plus all my algea growth happens in the sump / refugium area Either cheato or on the walls of the sump. Also my PO4 is holding between .01 and .02.

still reading before I make any changes

I dose 18-20 ml per day and run nitrates 12-16 and phosphates.08-.12.

no algae and run 12K spectrum cause of my nems and I prefer more white and less blue.

I might slowly ramp up. I’m running AB+ setup at 50% intensity. My rose loves it. So glad I was able to get her back

what is your bio load? My tank is still pretty new.

i just bumped the NOPOX from 3 to 4. I will watch it over the holiday break since I will be home
I have twelve fish

4 yellow tangs (not my plan but a friend was closing down his tank so i took his - better life than a toilet flush)
1 Purple Tang
1 Blue Tang (my 2 yr old instead on dori)
1 Flame Angel
1 Eiblii Angel
1 Purple Firefish
2 Maroon Clowns
1 Fridmonti (but I haven’t seen him in awhile).

just want to add a goby and pistol shrimp and no more fish...

surprisingly, the tangs are all buddies so far...

i have a bail out plan if I need to remove any...

If you would like to save some $$$, this gets dosed the same as NoPox. A lot of folks here use this mix.
not to hijack this thread but mind Pm-ing or sharing a link to such a magical juice?
just posted the mix here!
