Hello everyone,

You will be able to follow my adventures in the reef world here (I also have an Instagram account dedicated to this tank : newbie_in_the_reef)

I'm starting with a 33 gallon RedSea Nano Max G2XL

I'm still hesitant about the material to use:

Lighting : ReefLed 50 (need to upgrade to one ReefLed 90 ?)
Powerheads: 1xReefWave 25 or 2x GHL Stream 2 x AI Nero 3
Auto Top Off: ReefATO+ (or GHL Sensor with a Profilux Mini see after)
Heater: Eheim 150w (or Eheim with a Profilux Mini see after)

Aquascape : 22 28lbs of MarcoRock and AF Bio Sand (which one to choose)
Salt : Instant Ocean

Would an APEX or GHL type controller be a real added value?

The sequel is coming :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Controllers can be very beneficial if you want more of a hands off approach. If you have the money? I say get one. Following along, curious to see how your tank comes along!

Cool! Also first time reefer here. Experience with freshwater only.
Also documenting my journey in a thread.

Best of luck! And yes get a controller.
Makes reefing life much easier to keep track of parameters and sudden tank changes.
