I have a pair or Da Vinci clownfish that I would like to get an RBTA host for. I saw on another tank site that said my Da Vinci clowns will only use magnificents and carpet anemones. Is this true?

Your clowns will host whatever they want to host. Could be a powerhead, could be a BTA, could be hammer. Even if you got a carpet, there's no guarantee they would host it. My 2 currently host my return nozzle, even though a nem is 3 inches away.

natural host in the wild(mag and carpet anemone) vs artificial host (other anemones and even inanimate objects). I dont think it will affect health in any way. I have seen clownfish act way more territorial and clingy with the natural hosts as opposed to my clownfish which have hosted a bta for 6 1/2 years now.
Tank size, lighting, and age of the tank is more important as anemones are much harder to keep than clownfish

I've had clowns for over 2 years and multiple bubble tips anemone and they want nothing to do with each other. Sometimes bta will host then, sometimes not.
. However you are correct with the others you listed, they are the natural hosts for those clowns.

Just to mirror what everyone else has said, clowns are pretty open to most anything. I have a pair who took about 7 months and quite a bit of encouragement to notice a very large BTA. Now they act like they’d die without it.
