I wanted an ATO reservoir that fit a weird footprint (5.5" width by 17" long by 12" tall) but cannot find a pre-made one that fits similarly. I have no experience with building with glass or acrylic so before I embark on learning how to DIY build (which would be risky on my end), are there any reputable places to have a custom one built that won't cost me $300+?

Do you know if these are able to hold water? Couldn't see anything on that. And yeah I have looked all over for the alternative containers or trash cans but none work
I couldn't say for sure, for the price i expect they would. Maybe shoot them an email to inquire?

get a 10 gallon at BRS. There is one that is $143 plus shipping.

I can't fit the 10 gallons in the stand I built. I wish I could though. I need something with a width of 5.5" max which excludes almost all of the 10 gallon RO reservoirs

Those look like they are intended to hold trophies and ceramic dolls

Not water

Can make a custom sized tank for one

I know how to bond acrylic, and would not trust myself on a water tank to hold water. Let alone on my first try. Overflow boxes, and sump baffles, sure, they're already in a tank there

Good luck

Ask around your local club if anyone does acrylic… if you were local I’d take care of you they’re simple to build. lol… something that size should run ya like .$150 I’d imagine.

oh my bad. I didn’t check the dimensions. You can find someone that builds them with good diligence. A local glassmaker possibly?

I would try and find where Red Sea sources those water containers from, and buy them for the 20 bucks they should cost

Yeah I wish my area had someone like you, alas I don't know anyone in Roanoke who does

I have a reservoir with similar dimensions. Mine is 6” wide by 20” tall by 24” long. I designed it to fit behind my stand. However it is acrylic and while not custom made, it is made by an acrylic company and definitely cost me $200!!! The good news is it has a window to see water level, and also has the correct covers and holes in the top for hose/tube and cords.

how do you only have 12” of height ?

This would be a small ato container, around 3-4 gallons. You may want to consider having the container outside the cabinet if those dimensions are correct

Just getting back to this thread -- thank you everyone for your suggestions and referrals! I ended up finding one that fit well enough and didn't kill my wallet too bad!
