Doesn’t work AT all biggest waste of money medic .I tried rally and rally ick both and again a waste of money .All my fish have ick .But I feed them omegas, vitamins, garlic, vit c all mixed in Nori (green and red ) sandwich .Both LFS all believe in ick management.Good for there pocket book imo .QT all the way for me now .Setting up a 40 gallon QT .250 gallon a ***** to catch but the egg crate tech looks really good gonna try that . I have another tank I will transfer fish in .Forget going fallow I’m starting over ripping tank apart . Also have a 150 watts of uv which does squat for ick maybe prolongs there life ?
I might disagree:).. I had been getting all my fish QT from marine collectors.. and somehow ick showed its ugly head here is my stock list 8 foot tank 30 by 30 in case tang police wanna say something.. oh and they all live peacefully:)

Black tang
Orange shoulder tang
achilles tang
kole tang
Hawaii yellow tang
gem tang

Tahiti hawkfish
wantanabei angel
harlequin tusk
pink clown pair
storm clown pair
mystery wrasse
yellow Coris wrasse x 2
copperband butterfly fish
few mis damsels

we did an auto dose treatment of H202 for 4 months this helped get things under control, turned uv to 24/7 for 3 months and just fed as usual. All fish had a pretty severe outbreak for the first 3 weeks. I now only run uv at night and rarely if ever see any spots. So it is possible and as you can imagine the fish I have ice stands out like a sore thumb on the black and achilles. and yes it was 100 percent ice as seen under a scope.

That's because marine collectors is a lousy vendor to get fish from. Tried them 3 times with multiple fish deaths. Even picked the fish up in person and they refused to let me in the building to see the quality of their QT systems. Bought the same fish from my LFS that does his own in house medicinal QT and have had 100% success now for multiple years.

There is a simple way to (kind of) prove that - and it would be to ask aquabiomics how many healthy tanks have Cryptocaryon measured
I see it more accurate to equate how many healthy tangs that went through QT get ich when they arrive in a new tank. Did they bring the ich in with them or was it already in the tank?

I haven't had a single death and Elliott took great care of me with the ich. I added coral at the same time and some snails also qt from a different vendor.. Did the fish die after you had them? or DOA.

24 to 48 hours. I tried him 3 times with multiple fish and always picked them up. What really made me suspicious was when he refused to even let me look at his shop which is located in a dirty run down industrial complex. I then switched to my LFS and acquired the exact same fish with 0 casualties after multiple years. I'm glad you are successful but myself and many others are not with his services.

Yes, you make a good point, however, without knowing the baseline ich in the average tank (Aquabiomics would not be 100% accurate either). One problem is that a fish can 'look fine' after quarantine, but still carry the parasite. If I had to guess, though, the fallow period is very good for removing ich. There are multiple steps through which a quarantine period could 'fail' though - so my guess would be that the fish brought the ich to the tank, as compared to the fallow period failing.

UPDATE: Once the spots disappeared off my Foxface they have never reappeared. 2 weeks now, so I'm hoping it was a successful QT and fallow! I have a small Tomini Tang I'm running through Copper Power now. I'm sure he will be the tell in about a month when I introduce him. I'm doing 2 weeks Copper @2.25 and then transferring to a clean tank for 2 weeks for observation.

Two weeks is too short for amine-based copper meds, they need to be run for 30 days.

@Jay Hemdal is that for prophylactic treatment? I had read on Humblefish forum about a 14 day transfer into a sterile tank with sterile gear and only the fish get transferred. Not doubting you, just wondering if you had heard of this?

Yeah, I’ve heard of it, but it isn’t as safe as the standard 30 day treatment. This all stems from people not wanting to take the time a proper treatment requires, so people try to come up with compromises to shorten the time, but at what risk?
