Need some help please. I'm in the process of starting a new tank. Been running for just over a week now, NO fish, picked up all my water premixed at the LFS and also purchased some live rock and some dead rock. I have noticed on one of the live rocks I bought it,
A - has quite the red and green algae on it... Any room for concern? I had started off the tank on the LFS advice and was feeding a pinch of flakes daily however have since stopped that. As long as I keep the lights off the algae stays at bay. Turn the lights on and within a few hours it really starts showing. So far it is only on this one rock... Again, need for concern? I don't really want the tank over run by algae..
B - Same rock also has some critters growing on it. Not sure what they are and if they should be eliminated. Your help please. Attached are some pictures.. LFS says they are mushrooms, and he should have charged me extra for them, different fish store says Aiptasia.. Not sure myself. Lets hear some thoughts please... Thanks!!
