There can be only one! Watch out blue legs!I love crabs! I’ve been looking for a Pom Pom locally for a while. I can’t find my problem child now, but ive got the only surviving original Scarlet hermit in my tank still named Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod. He murdered my entire original clean up crew (lots of Quickening lightning storms in the house) but he’s seemingly chilled out with all The blue legs I recently added. He likes to switch shells several times a day so I’ll have to update again with a pic when I find him walking around.
The blues are all much smaller, so hopefully that keeps him at bay. He’s got like 10 different shells he moves between now. It’s funny,There can be only one! Watch out blue legs!
Those front claws make it look all muscular like Popeye! Cool markings.
There’s the first staghorn of the thread and strawberry also.
Nice pics! RUDE CLOWNS!Anemone crab before he got kicked out by the clowns.
Goni decide to host him
Couple hermits.
Thanks I can’t take credit for the pictures of the hermits.Nice pics! RUDE CLOWNS!
My clown female was being really rude a few hours ago while I was pulling a couple Kenya tree droppings out of the sand that were dropped. She was attacking my hand like crazy and even bitting and shaking her head like a dog with a rope toy! So vicious!
I always heard they would split the one they had left into two. Have never had one myself but will pretty soon.Pom pom crab hanging out. He lost his left anemone though.
Tbh, I bought the Staghorn without really knowing about its care requirements...I know. I tend to keep the nutrients on the higher side which should be adequate for the hydrocoral it lives in. I've heard of some leave their "shell" to seek out an actual shell but I think my other hermits would destroy it if that ever happened. Have a pesky one that tries to pick on it but it's front claw acts as a door that protects itself inside the shell. If the hydrocoral stays alive the crab itself should have no reason to leave and seek out another shell. I do have to keep watch on it though as it sometimes climbs on the rock work and gets stuck between the glass if it falls. AThere’s the first staghorn of the thread and strawberry also.
How do you care for the staghorn? What about extra shells for it as it grows? I think they are very cool looking hermits.
I think we have all bought something at one time or another that we didn’t research beforehand.Tbh, I bought the Staghorn without really knowing about its care requirements...I know.
