Hi,
I had a clove basically dissolve, and my zoa is almost all gone too. But the rest of my corals seem fine. I fed mysis shrimp and noticed a claw coming out from the rock structure. I bought all dry rock, mixed salt water (no natural), and I dip all my corals. Did she come from the live sand?? Also, do you think this is my zoa problem? You can see the empty plug in one of the videos.
How do I get this crab out?? I placed the rock on the glass before the sand and I have a signal gobby (named Traffic ) that digs right underneath this spot. Any tips??

I caught crabs with meaty bait in a jar with a neck to it. It took me a couple weeks to get the jar placement and timing right. Empty the bait in the day time to reduce decay, and rebait before lights out. I used a glass jar (mini mason jar) worked best.

ime crabs love yellow zoas. i lost all mine and didnt know why until I caught a hungry gorilla crab or 2 lucking in the rockwork. It wouldnt come from the sand but likely from the corals even if they have been dipped. they are quite resilient

Did you have the jar standing up or laying down? Just curious how it got stuck in there. Thanks for your quick reply!!

I was able to lean it against the rock at about a 20 degree angle near the crab's lair. The "shoulders" of the jar prevented it from crawling out. It is only a 2 oz jar. It caught several whelks also.
