I've never slept in a burrow myself but I have woken up in some interesting places. :)

Reefs always provide so much enjoyment!

I just saw that he candy cane shrimp I thought no longer lived is alive and using the same burrow my court jester goby sleeps in every night. Has anyone experienced this as well?
This isn’t a natural pairing, in fact it’s probably not a purposeful pairing either. These fish will burrow at night and use either their own burrow or someone else’s. So it isn’t actually paired with the pistol but more coping with the pistol in the burrow.

That is correct. They have not paired, but tolerate each other's presence at night. I was still surprised to see it.

Might seem unnatural but you don’t know what they’ve got going on in that burrow late at night…..

Very cute! It often happens that two critters with similar temperaments may seek shelter together. It might only be temporary, so get some photos or vids while you can, then you can enjoy them together anytime :)

Mine have done the same thing as yours! I introduced the candy pistol shrimp some weeks ago with a Yasa Goby. I haven't seen the candy pistol until I added another candy pistol and the rainfordi. I thought the candy pistol was paired with my Yasa Goby but it seems that the rainfordi invaded it's home and the candy pistol had to let it happen. They live in the same burrow and they both once left the burrow together. I don't think they are paired and I am waiting for my Yasa to become less timid and more bold so that he will pair with the candy pistol.

That's cute! My hector's went into the pistol shrimp's burrow right away when I added him; and then came out again just as quick :grinning-face-with-sweat: I guess they didn't feel as inclined to be neighbors!
