Could RODI and Saltwater mixing station be kept outside?

Ok, so I live in southern California where the weather is wonderful all year round...just kidding. It gets very hot, but thankfully we don't usually get below freezing. I'm wondering about the feasibility of keeping a large water mixing station outside in water tanks like these (not my pic).

I'm thinking I could set these up on the outside wall of my house (just on the other side of the wall from my tank). What do you think? Doable? Crazy?

I think this would work perfectly and actually the only reason I haven't done it yet is because of the price.

My two reservoirs are not "outside" but are in my garage. I live in Arizona and can assure you it gets very hot here and very hot in the garage in the summer....well over 105deg in the garage ....and even warmer when two cars just pulled in.

I have had it set this way for several years. No issues and I keep both RODI fresh water and mixed NSW in the tanks for weeks/months at a time.

I have an auto water change and ATO set up with lines running from tanks, through the wall as shown.

So, no reason to think you could not do this in CA with tanks outside. You would just want to ensure the openings in the reservoir are closed enough to keep out dirt, crud, bugs, etc.

Yep I think they’re a good way to mix and hold salt water . Pump out of your tank and pump into the tank . Just need a power point out side but you could use run an extension cable when needed. Good idea plenty of salt water on hand.. if you live near the sea fill it up with natural good and free

If they are getting sunlight they will grow algae. Maybe put some phytoplankton in one and get free phytoplankton feeding with each water change?

Parker's reef has his outside in Australia he also has done tank tours of others outside also. I think @d2mini used to have one outside in Houston.

My water is already 100° in my garage and it’s fine.. only issue you’re gonna have outside is the sunlight growing algae inside them… I’d black them out with paint or a black tarp if you choose to keep them outdoors.

I know I'm a bit late to the conversation but for what its worth I have a 7 stage RODI set up on my patio with 3 brute containers for mixing and storing water. I live in SoCal next to the coast. It rarely gets over 90°F here but if you are only really storing RODI there shouldn't be anything in the water that is affected by temp.
Storing mixed saltwater on the other hand you may have issues with precipitation of alk and mg. At this point all of my mix is used up as soon as I make it so I don't worry about it.

Some people are saying on here that you would grow algea in the tanks. As long as your RODI is functioning properly this should not be an issue as there would not be any nitrates or phosphates present to feed and facilitate the growth of algea.
