Found this Coralife 65g HOB skimmer on sale, at 40% off. Looking for advice if it's worth it or not. Not seeing a lot of reviews on it. Tank is 65g. Thinking maybe 10-12 fish in total plus CUC. In addition, when do I actually install a protein skimmer? At setup, after initially adding fish, or after adding all fish and corals over the next few months? Never owned one.

This is the updated model of their old one which has been in production for years.
I run that version now, although I've modified it greatly.
I've never used this version.
Do you have a tank going now or are you in the planning stages?

I went ahead and bought it. I bought a used octoreef hob, but didn't know it was missing parts when I bought it, so got my money back from the guy I bought it from locally and orchard the coralife that I posted. I'm still in the planning phase, so no, the tank isn't set up yet. When do I add it to the tank? From day one or once I start adding fish?

Most wait a bit before installing, some don't run one at all but I'm a skimmer fanatic.
I start from day one but that'll be up to you. There usually isn't much to pull out in the beginning but it always adds oxygen which is a good thing.
Whenever you get started, I'll answer whatever questions you have.
I'm always here to help just click on my showcase badge and post in that thread if you've got questions. You can always find me there.
Or make another post and we'll help.
Lots of smart people on here.
Good luck.

Much appreciated! That's why I'm glad I was referred to this forum, for help. Reddit people like to bash a lot.
