Newbie to Saltwater world (please be gentle). Been doing a ton of research the past few years and finally moving ahead getting it all setup this year. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Main DT - Will be Waterbox INFINIA REEF 230.6
Fish QT - Will be bare bottom Fluval 32.5 gallon tank
Coral QT - Will be Waterbox 20 Gallon Cube with an AI Prime

Coral QT Questions:
  • Plans are keep it simple with a few frag racks, NO fish in Coral QT. Trying to keep bad stuff out of DT.
  • Can I put GSP on back wall and not have it get on all my corals in QT before moving to DT? Love this look but don't want GSP taking over my DT.
  • Should I put sand on bottom of Coral QT?
  • Should I put rock in Coral QT, or just load bio media materials in back section of AIO filter section?
  • Can I put an Anemone in my Coral QT? I love the look of them, but don't want them moving all over my DT, taking over my DT, or stinging established colonies in my DT in future.
Thank you in advance!!!

First off, you don't need fancy tanks for a QT. You can save a TON of money by using standard aquariums.

I wouldn't put gsp on the back wall, mainly because a QT should be easily able to be cleaned if something gets out of control. However, you can do it if you want.

I would not put sand in a coral/invert QT. There is no need. I would also not put rock. At most, a biosponge or biomedia will be fine. You can put pvc pipes in for inverts to hide.

An anemone can be in a coral qt but if it is a sand dweller you will need a container to put sand in.

Thank you very much for reply. I been market place hustling for the fancier QT tanks at cheap prices, getting bit by the gear bug can hurt though for sure.

Tbh I would just get a cheap generic tank with a hang and possibly a powerhead.
