Had a question. Nitrates are getting a little high in my 40gal cube. How often should I be feeding my fish (flamehawk, Midas, clown pair, and mimic saddle filefish)? I usually just feed mysis or brine. Should I switch to flakes/pellets and use the shrimp as a treat?

How high are we talking? If you are using frozen mysis you can defrost and drain the liquid and shouldn't be a problem with raising your nitrates. Also, your fish will tell you if too much is being fed if there's leftover food over.

I see that a bunch of Stylocoeniella just posted. Don't sleep on them especially as they are a fantastic coral to glue to your overflow / back of the reef as they will eventually create a living sheet that will cover any surface. I would even mix and match as they are all the same species and they won't bother each other as they grow up to each other.

It's super cool to watch! I promise!

That is correct! It will plate and whirl. Super awesome Cap as it grows out!

do lepto's do as well on the back wall?

Lepto's can work, but not quite as well as Stylocoeniella. Lepto's have the tendency to try and plate a bit, which can shade anything underneath it, and that will slow down the growth of anything below it.
