Love the coordination on photos of Tangerine fish then color.

That’s not a color you see very often in corals. It’s mesmerizing

Mines in my garage waiting for me to make room in my house for it
That would make my life simpler... But nope hubby decided to take an interest on my reefing addiction and haunted craigslist (for all of a day) to see if other people in Maine were like me. Found us a 500gal in a barn, 3 towns over, cabinet, sump and plumbing included for $1700. (He's a go big or go home, kinda guy). Now I have to figure everything out from scratch. I WAS going to contain this reef to, technically, stay nano. Hahahahahaha ack!

The good news is that Hubby ALSO found someone selling a 220, a 55 and a 95... We'll have a head start on stocking the big boy. (After appropriate quarantines)

So it's you who got the 500g tank! Wow. I definitely can't wait to see a buildthread for this one.

Wow Matt! How do you get such good color saturation- in actual coral and in photo?
I have higher nitrate in this tank. Usually around 25-30 ppm. Phosphate is always low and has to be dosed to keep it around .05ppm. For photos, I use an Orphek lens kit, and post edit to get color and lighting as close to reality as possible.

Ummm, I also have a 75 gal and I can’t even say apples and oranges comparison because those are both fruits. LoL

But at least I can see what you Could actually get into a 75gal if done correctly

My cutie little toadstool! They’re so underrated. I used to have one that was almost 8 inches in diameter that my clowns loved! They’re so cool to me.

These are the tank setups we are combining into it.

55 gal (look at that toadie!)

And the 220... I think he's getting rid of it because his reload tipped BTA was feeling frisky and spawned. 40+ times!!! I'm going to donate BTAs to R2R for giveaways!

He sent me closeups today. The blue in the sand is a trachy, I believe. (He isn't a professional photographer...) Above the monster candy cane is a crusting teal cephastrea.

We pick it up tomorrow. Soooo excited!
