no your coral QT should not be interchangeable with fish QT. It should basically be a frag tank, with lighting same or equivalent to your tank lighting.
Cooler with a strap comes in mighty handy.
Any other tips, is a newly cycled (less than one week with turbo 900 bacteria) enough for a QT?

For coral?
I would worry more about other parameters more than it being cycled honestly. Corals use ammonia. That said I wouldn't drop them in a tank with large amounts of ammonia.

Do you think with heavy water changes on a qt and easy corals you would still need to dose?
