This coral that I do not know the name has been closing up most of the day. It does open.

I’ve had it over a month and this is more recent. I’ve tried it in different spots.
Do you think too much light could cause?

I have noticed a new head coming out. Could that cause it?

what looks like a sinnularia is a member of the leather group and requires moderate light but more important medium water flow. Blow its surface with a turkey baster and direct water flow towards it- Not at it and it should perk up.

I could be wrong but to me it looks like a sinularia, its does look a little unhappy.

It like medium light and flow, mine is on the sandbed centered under the light and it sways lightly in the flow.

Your tank also looks kind of newish, so make sure it has enough nutrients in the water, make feed some soft coral food or something.

These will often close up especially in higher light. However it looks healthy to me. I have one that is at very high par and is very happy.View attachment 2993655
