My Coral Beauty has been in DT for a week or 2 and has gotten a beat down.
Moved back to a QT.
Anything I should treat with?
His eyes appear a bit cloudy but not bad.

To help assess situation, will need a clear pic or two under white lighting

Not at home to take picks but near a petco Really it is just regular beat up. Fins are chewed. Bite on top that is turned gray.
Nothing special in tank. Sailfin tang probably did it.
I have just never medicated before.
Probably don’t need to do anything.

hard without pics. Fins should grow back but grey area may be Bacterial and a guess why pics are valuable. Maracyn 2, or seachem Kanaplex will be best treatments but Petco is generally weak with what meds they sell. You will need to treat in a quarantine tank and monitor water quality with a RELIABLE test kit
Sailfin can get vicious

Kanaplex was what I figured from reading other threads.
I’m going to pick some up but just observe for any issues before applying.
will post pic later.

I think his eyes look a touch cloudy. Fin on the other side is more chewed up.

Were its eyes at all cloudy before it got picked on? I ask because it is SUPER common with new fish to have two or more issues going on at the same time - this could be flukes.

I don’t think they were.

I think the Sailfin got my other tang again tonight. Might be time to pull him from the tank.

thanks Jay!
I tend to agree on that living nightmare sailfin which will continue havoc. You can try isolation for at least 2-3 weeks or simply evict it

I have a Tang in the DT as well that is now hiding and not eating as well for 2-3 days.
Is this flukes?
Do I treat the DT or take the tang out too and treat?

Does the tang show any visible symptoms, like similar cloudy eyes? Is it breathing fast?

If it is flukes, you can treat the DT with prazipro twice, 8 days apart with good aeration.

I don’t think he is exhibiting either.
I have them both in the QT and will treat as prescribed.
Do you suggest Hyposalinity as well? Just read about doing that.

I would try the Prazipro first - it is less stressful than hypo, and I’m not 100% certain that this is flukes.
