Hi I got this rock (not sure if it’s real tonga) yesterday from tsm and the guy told me that they treated it with copper.

I was thinking cupraone and/or a muriatic. acid bath.

Should i worry about this? I was doing some research and i’m seeing a lot of different answers. I don’t want to kill my inverts.

I would worry about it. You probably can strip it off, but it will take some effort. A brief acid batch may help, but stripping it off by soaking it in moving water that contains a copper binder such as metasorb or cuprisorb ir a polyfilter is likely the best solution.

ok thanks- You mean “wouldn’t” worry about it?

Thanks again

No, I mean I think it is a concern and would not use it without ensuring that it won’t release a lot of copper.

I would not be comfortable using it.
