Conch/Whelk ID??

I just pick it up today from a LFS. Can anyone ID it?

You guys think that's a conch and not a whelk? If a conch, what type of conch is it?

Tiger sand conch.They eat algae, a little bit of detritus, and one of the few things that will actually eat red slime.

Will they eat my coral or clam? I have some frag on the sand.

I think you nail it, looks like a Saltwater Tiger Conch. Thanks for the help.

It is a "Fighting Conch." It is in the Strombus snail genus. Great algae, detritus, and sandbed stirrers. Won't harm corals or clams.
