Still relatively new to the hobby and just been doing my monthly test of Mg (red sea kit) and its up around 1560. Is this okay or way to high. I dont dose any Mg but are having to dose Ca (4ppm )and Alk daily (0.56 dKH).
Salinity -stable at 1.024 tested every couple of days
Alk- 8.26 dKH
Ca 455 ppm
Phosphate 0.1 ppm (GFO still bringing it down)
Nitrate 0 ppm
Ammonia 0 ppm

Mag is not so much of a problem .. it will come down .. but a little more info over your tank would be help full .. what corals do you have .. how old do s your tank .. and really your nitrate could be a little higher your tank will need some nutrients for your corals

Read very carefully the instructions.

For R.S mag test be sure to stop dripping reagent as soon as the colour changes to grey/blue, & take reading then, even if test solution turns back to pink
