I am so sorry for your families loss. It appears that you lost a very special person. Not only her family, but this world will miss a child that cared about things other than just herself. We need more of todays children to have an outlook more like Ashley's.
I wish I could have donated more to this very worthy cause. I also wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. God is with you through this journey, just remember to allow him to guide you,and all should get better.
Stay strong, not just for yourself and your family, but most of all for Ashley.

With that said so eloquently, this is the end of our Toy Drive. I would like to thank all of you who donated money wise and who sent prayers and well wishes. I will be sending the money over to them this evening so that they can go ahead and make best use of this donation. Once again you all here at CZ have proved that we have the best members and the biggest heart on the net. Thanks for that.

I am going to leave you with the poem that was written by Ashley's mom and was read at the funeral service. (thanks weetabix)

I remember you Ashley Nicole Joy Paine, my firstborn, my everything
I remember my huge belly when you were tucked safe and sound inside
I remember being impatient about meeting you for the first time
Walking seven miles so you could come into this world
I remember the first time I held you, so small and beautiful
I remember your soft hair and chubby little hands and how it felt to feel your heartbeat next to mine while you slept in my arms
I remember
Then you were walking and babbling and strewing toilet paper all over
I remember you climbing under end tables and clanging post and pans
I remember you saying "Ma Ma" and climbing into my lap
I remember how cute you looked eating pickles when you were only one
I remember your adorable little walk down the runway during pageants
I remember
I remember your soft hair and chubby little hands and how it felt to feel your heartbeat next to mine while you slept in my arms
Then you went to preschool and learned your ABC's and you were so proud to recite them back to me
I remember how you loved Pokemon and loved jumping into the leaves yelling "Pikachu, Pikachu!"
You were always so eager to learn and try taking care of other children in need
I remember how beautiful and compassionate you were becoming at such a young age
Then you went to elementary and thought you were big and tough
Had to play all the sports because you didn't like the sissy stuff
I remember how you wanted to grow up and become a Christian singer
I remember how you loved playing goalie since the time you could kick a soccer ball
I remember how happy you were to meet Lilo and Stitch at Disneyland
I remember how brave you were when you had your tonsils out
You always made an easy friend and always played the Peacemaker
I remember you helping a scared child you didn't know down the indoor slides at McDonalds
I remember
I remember how beautiful and compassionate you had become at such a young age
Then you went to junior high and started becoming a young adult
And still yet you loved to play sports, still didn't like those sissy things
I remember our special days together and screaming during roller coaster rides
I remember hearing your beautiful voice as you joined the chorus group
And yet still you had time to lend a helping hand and befriend anyone in need
You had become so popular and loved by all
I remember how much you loved your brothers and sisters and looked out for them
I remember your stubborness but also your softheartedness
I remember
I remember the last time that you said "I love you" because it was that day, the day that changed my life
There was no more soft hair and chubby hands and feeling your heart beat next to mine while you slept in my arms
There was a young woman fighting to come back to those who loved her, because your job on earth was not done
I remember holding your hand during our last few hours and knowing how much I was going to miss you
But I knew that it was God's turn to feel your heart beating next to his as he held your life in his hands
I remember you and that you were God's great plan
I remembered how you wanted to save the world with that big heart of yours
And so you gave the greatest gift you could to others with your dying breath, you gave part of yourself, hoping to help save a life of another
And in that instant I said goodbye and I love you and I handed you up to God in heaven
I knew that you were going to use that beautiful voice to sing in God's choir
And use those helping hands and compassion to lead the little ones down the path of gold
I knew that God was still using you for a plan
And one day all that have loved you will walk hand in hand and join you in the sky in the Promise Land
