Our clownfish and Anemone have been best buds for over a year and all of a sudden clown starts hanging out outside of the nem. After about 3 days the nem eat my clown and spit out the remains. Gone just like that.
Is this because the nem was hungry?
Is this normal? And what causes it?
Thanks in advance

What kind of nem? My initial guess is you had a nem that was incompatible/not clown safe. . . that likely didn't stop the clown from trying to "host" and the nem decided it was particularly hungry that day.

That or the clown died of an unrelated cause and the anemone took the free meal.

It could truly happen because the anenome is hungry. I was warned when I bought one. You got to give it frozen shrimp.

I keep frozen deveined shrimp for him. Thought came to me after clown fish was gone wondering if that was the problem.
