Hello, this afternoon as I was feeding my fish I noticed that one of my black clowns weren’t coming out to eat as this one always does. He always gets bullied and bit so I just thought he was hiding for a moment. But then 5 minutes went by he still wasn’t out and his buddy always kept swimming to the back of the tank behind the rocks. So I figured I’d move the live rock around and try to find him. when I picked up the bottom rock he was laying there barely moving looked like he was stuck under the rock and something was picking at him now his fins are torn up and he has white spots on him and he is barely swimming. Is there anything I could do to help him survive?

This fish is beyond battered and likely moribund in which it will likely not eat or swim normal at this point, sad to say.

If the fish isn’t eating and can’t swim, it may not survive. One thing that does help severely damaged fish is to acclimate it to a slightly lower salinity. Of course, you usually can’t do that in a display tank. A specific gravity of 1.019 helps the fish match the salt level of its blood more easily.

You think starting a QT in lower salinity could help I had this clown for over a year and half and I really want to save him

Well, balancing the osmotic issue is the only first aid you can offer. If it survived a few days, then you need to each for secondary bacterial infections.
