Just take it slooooowww. You don’t want the ugly phase to mess with or kill your corals.

Tank looks sweet great job with the build chief. Can your buddy do some media baskets for the 24g lifeguard? Please advise. They're great looking tanks.

Received my frags this morning at 10:00AM earlier than UPS said they would be there so I was excited about that. Most frags had more polyps than I expected as well. There were a few that came off during shipping but nothing a little super glue gel didn't fix. Acclimated the coral to temp then added a little tank water over a 45 in period to get them used to the water I use. Some started to open quickly but others are still closed. Will try and get some pictures tonight when I get home from work. I took the morning off to receive the package.

Could be test error. Check again.
It was test error was actually at .04 so I was hunting down the source and I think I might have found it. I never took out the sponge that is under the return pump (never saw it when I set up the tank). Took it out this morning and cleaned up everything with a water change. I am hoping that it was the culprit for holding in stuff. Will keep checking over the course of the next few weeks to make sure.

Oh cool. Yea, 0.04 is optimal for all types of corals. Try to hang around that range. Just don’t chase numbers. It might be 0.07 one day. Then 0.05 the next. No big deal.

Got additional CUC coming next Wednesday. After I made the statement that my snails were staying up one got stuck between the glass and rock and the other well not sure. So lost two astraea snails. Did not realize it until two days later that they died so have a little film algae bloom. Check parameters
PO4 .006-0.021
NO3 undetectable think algae is using it up
Ammonia 0
Salinity 35
pH 8.1
going to do a 2g water change tonight or tomorrow morning and brush the rocks while siphoning.

Needed to check parameters this afternoon and here is what they look like.

temp 76-77.5
pH 8.1-8.2
phosphates 0 (double checked)
nitrates 0 (double checked)
calcium 440
Mg 1500
Alk. 8.3

was going to do a water change this weekend but with those number I need to let nitrates and phosphates build up. Really starting to rethink this no fish deal I have going in my head hahaha
going back to feeding a pinch of reef roids to the tank to build up some nutrients.

Bowerbanki like it!!

Well I wasn’t strong enough to resist. Been having a really hard time keeping phosphates and nitrates above 0 (yes double checked with multiple test kits) so I bit the bullet and ordered a yellow clown goby. Will be here Tuesday or Wednesday depending on ship date. Sure hope feeding this fish will help with nitrates at least.

Water change day and so I took advantage and placed the frags where I liked them and glued them down. They are still a little upset but I am sure will open up soon. Most I took off the plugs others I just cut around the frag

Well snap Wednesday has come and gone now and no new shipping information on my fish. Going to give it until tomorrow and see what happens. At this rate my Kracken lid will be here before my goby.
On another note PO4 got a little high .09 and NO3 is 5. Haven’t fed roids in a week. Going to stop at LFS tomorrow afternoon and see if they have any chemipure nano packs to help bring it down an little before fish gets here.
