Hi everybody!
How often to you change-up your Chemipure Blue media? Doesn't that throw off your beneficial bacteria? Also, still have the algae problem on my rocks! How do you clean those? Snails, crabs, and shrimp don't touch it!

changing out chemipure won't throw off the beneficial bacteria. The bacteria is on all surface area's of the tank, and the majority of surface area is with the rocks, so the rocks are the main biofilter.

For algae, pic would be good to identify the type of algae, so we can provide the right solution. Also what is the nitrate and phosphate levels? How old is the tank?

My tank i 2 years old. The algae is primarily on the rocks. I remove manually weekly but its always there. Levels are .05 and .25.

White light picture would help, is that bryopsis? looks long and strandlike, will need someone else to jump in and verify.

Realistically, Chemipure Blue isn’t going to swing your tank any direction quickly. It does reduce phosphates but not near as close as long as advertised.

Do you use RODI water? Use a skimmer? Do frequent water changes? Sent your water off for an ICP test? Have a good cleanup crew that includes a urchin?
