Hello,

I was wondering what others are using for a mixture ratio of Citric Acid / Water. Just like everything else, the cost of Citric Acid is going up. I typically use a random amount that "looks good" but was wondering if there is a ratio documented somewhere.

Thanks

You should not just make a random recipe - as too much can damage gaskets, etc. Here is one recipe: "Citric Acid Cleaning Solution: Mix 3/4 cup dry citric acid with 1 US gallon of fresh water. For cleaning an aquarium, you could technically fill the entire tank up with tap water, then mix in the appropriate amount of citric acid powder.: (From BRS)"

here is an R2R thread with some different recommendations: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/citric-acid-water-ratio-for-cleaning.908164/#:~:text=As to the concentration - citric, couple hours for citric acid.

Hope this helps!
