Recently I’ve been noticing that my sand bed which is oolite has been diminishing.I’ve been thinking about replenishing with a different type. I bought some new Caribsea western Caribbean and rinsed with distilled water. Last night I did the weekly water change and moved my existing sand away from my rock work added the new sand . I guess I did not get all the silt out as still clouded the water but cleared up for the most part last night . I also removed my top 2 pieces of rock as I found a lot of green bubble algae removed and rinsed in old tank water . This morning I noticed on the bottom of my favia colony which I glued to a piece of rock ba hitchiker which I’m hoping is a feather duster . Some pics

Last Sunday found 2 baby RFA and by Tuesday I was up to 8 .I’ll be checking tonight at lights out with black light .
I’m also starting to research a light upgrade from stock lights.

Soon the tank will be 2 Years old . I fell like i have learned what to do and not do , but still more to learn . Did a water change today and removed some of the rock to thoroughly remove bubble and hair /turf algae that has been plaguing me for about 5 months . I know the battle is not over but hopefully soon it will be . I picked up some new corals myLFS had a great holiday deals 1 frag of green star polyps have it glued to back wall , 1 Torch coral, aussie acan with 2 heads ,and a montipora will post pictures soon .
The baby RFA are getting a little bigger and some like to play hide and seek with me and have 12 as of tonight . I think my mind is made up with a new light for the tank AI prime hd starting to set aside money for it .

Totally. Everytime you do some mechanical removal of these nuisance, you give a better fighting chance to your cleanup crew. Hermits are pretty good at nipping at smaller bubble algae. In the long run, nutrient control will be key. AI prime HD is an awesome choice :)

@Ranjib My hermits have no interest in bubble algae . The nutrient reduction has started and will continue .Its my own fault and once there was the baby RFA it just escalated more :(.

Are you sure you're down to 7 and they haven't just moved to where you can see them?

Also hows the Duncan doing with the clowns hosting? When I had a small colony Duncan and my clowns hosted it always stayed closed. And I used egg crate to make a cage so they couldn't get to it. They eventually left it alone.

The Ai prime has came Wednesday so the setup was really easy . I downloaded a signature series preset and it looked really nice . I was not epecting the amount of evaporation I got but getting that under control now that I see the difference from top to no top . Going to try to keep manual top off and see how it goes trying not to spend money on ato but am looking at just Incase I can’t keep up .
I changed to the Pirates preset lowered down the intensity and keep on acclamation mode on the tank does look really nice . So far my impression of the light it’s great light . Still have a lot to learn about it .
