My tank is 30 inches deep, currently i am running 4 t5s, but i am intrested in switching to leds. I may run hybrid later on . Do you happen to know if t5s store good or will par drop? store as in in a box in the attic not turned on. My tank is 4ft long 18 inches wide and 28 inches height, my setup of corals current is 3 zoas 1 kenya, Tomorrow i am picking up a green cap monti and jack o lantern stylo. I am thinking of going mostly lps with some softies and sps, i really want acros. PS Maybe a clam if that counts cause i think they like lights

Here is some Data I used when I choose my lights. I went with the Reefi Labs uno 2.0, later upgraded to the new 2.1 reeflectors. I have 4 of these over a 300g 8foot tank (96x31x24), mixed reef. Of the available 270 watts I only use 125watt at peak putting 80 to 100 par on my sand in 27 inches of water. Lights are mounted 12 inches above water line.

What ever light you choose, good luck to you.

I have no experience with hydras but I have seen nice tanks that use them successfully.

If you are looking for an “other” to consider, reef breeders photon 48 is a single fixture that will cover the 48” tank end to end, and is more than capable of keeping lps and acros, with fully adjustable spectrum.
