The Chesapeake Marine Aquaria Society (CMAS) is a local Maryland group of passionate hobbyists that strive to promote the hobby of marine fish and miniature reef keeping in the mid-Atlantic region.


The club’s efforts focus on these key principles:

1. Promoting ethical marine fish and reef keeping practices.

2. Educating others through the sharing of best aquaria-keeping methods.

3. Actively promoting the conservation of marine fish and reef species through the support of aquaculture and mariculture programs for the ornamental trade.

4. Sharing the love of the hobby with everyone through club meetings, aquarium store socials and group trips to aquarium related events.

5. Encouraging new hobbyists by offering support and experience to help make their aquarium keeping successful.
