Hello, any idea why this chalice is changing it's color from orange to mostly grey/blue? I own this coral for nearly a year now. It's growing but the bright orange disappears. Other orange chalice corals are doing fine. I feed them with faunamarin LPS grow and color and fauna MIN S at least once a week. I also dose trace elements because some like zinc, iron or copper are always low. Lights are ati hybrid, coral is placed near the bottom of the tank.

Latest icp (not perfect, I know): https://lab.faunamarin.de/en/share/analysis/154387

Hello this is just a guess but your nutrients seem really high and in my tank high nutrients will dull colors in my coral and slow growth.

Do you have an icp test when the tank was doing great to compare the numbers?

My nutrients have always been a little high. PO4 at 0.2 and NO3 at 20 never caused problems. NO3 went a little high in the past weeks, some Montis shift to darker colors but the LPS are doing fine. I will do some big water changes and see what happens. Also give the advice to move it higher a try.

Have a flaming bugatti on top of the reef. Grow rate is good and no difference in coloration to the ones at the bottom.
But this one is morphing gray/blue? Just suggesting maybe higher par would promote the orange growth

Another possibility is it’s grafted and the blue/gray is dominant.

I wouldnt say this piece is losing color which typically means bleaching, fading, pale, browning etc. blue gray is one of the original main colors. It’s just growing one color more dominantly than the other
