Hey all, first time Chalice keeper and I'm a little worried.

Just got in a Goku Chalice frag two days ago and I'd read that if they're getting too much light, they can flatten to their skeletons. Well, that's what it looks like I'm seeing here, what do you think?

Yesterday, I had it at the far corner of a 23" long tank with a single Kessil A360 in the center at only 40% output. Today I moved it to the shadow (not full shade) of a rock and no improvement.

It definitely did not look like this when it arrived. Any thoughts?

Are they known to be sensitive to a particular parameter that might have shifted since I tested on Monday?

Params as of Monday:
SG 1.25
Ph 8.15
Calcium 425
Magnesium 1300
Alkalinity 9.5
Phosphorus 0.03
Nitrate 2

It's a newly cycled tank, but I can move it to my Small-In-One if that might be the issue--I thought it would want better lighting. Nothing else in the tank but Zoas, Cloves, and a Shroom.

when chalice are happy they are inflated, you should not see any skeletons:

When they are deflated something is not going well.

Most of mine are on the sand but on rubble/ rocks etc… I find that sand irritate them. Eventually the tend to grow towards the light.

I did not have much luck with chalice until the first year. They do require some maturity from my experience.

Some grow slow some are like a weed:

Your Alk is not high for the PO4 level. For reference I run my Alk at 7.5-8.5 and PO4 around 0.1.

Good luck,
