So I have a 75g, currently have Tomini Tang, Coral Beauty, Lyretail Anthias, Black Ice clown, Fire Shrimp. Pics are White Tail Tang that is next addition. I am moving to a 150 in 6 months, so also will be adding a Majestic or Regal Angel juvenile to grow out. Will move all to 150. If I wasn’t going bigger I’d still do white tail, but then one or two smaller fish instead of Angel.
I have a whitetail in my 75g. He was to be my centerpiece fish - they are beautiful, but mine is a bit of a jerk and has taken out a couple of diamond gobies and has been picking on my Solar wrasse. So, I’m not as happy with my decision now a year and a half later. I like my Solar Wrasse and One Spot Foxface more.

Maybe a 150 will be big enough - but my understanding is a Tomini and Bristletooth may not work together.

They will perch and ambush fish in the wild when they are hungry. Ive had several lions, none of them hunted any of my fish because I kept them on a schedule for feeding, fast/gorge. I had to get rid of them because Im deathly allergic to their venom sadly. But none of mine ever went after fish because I fed them at the same time I fed my eels about every 2-3 days (two when they were younger, 3-4 when they were older). I learned to see the signs when they were hungry. My fuzzy would come up and beg at the top of the tank when she was hungry!
Thanks for all the help. How did you find out that you were deathly allergic?

Unfortunately I got stung by one of my volitan lions. Immediately went into analeptic shock, couldnt breathe and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Apparently the venom is similar to bee stings just stronger! Not fun. Got rid of the lions after the second sing (this one was aggressive) because I realized they might actuallu kill me

Thanks for info, yes, I have seen both good and bad results with that pair. My Tomini is a juvenile, about 2" long, so my plan would be to get a similar sized white tail in hopes that the similar small size would increase my chances of success. I have more rockwork and less austere aquascaping than what seems to be the preference for many, so that may help too. Or maybe it's just a bad idea lol There's always a fish trap I can order somewhere.
