Thanks in advanced for reading and your comments.

I have been dealing with this red nuisance for a couple of months now and while it was mainly on the sand, it's now creeping to the rocks.

What is this thing and how can I treat it?

Can we start with water chemistry.
How long, what parameters, what light…..etc

We see pest type algae’s and bacteria’s when we provide an environment which they like.

Number 1 is poor fluctuating water chemistry.

Bring all parameters into check at normal operating levels and stabilize.

Once that’s done you can use Chemi-clean to reset (remove) what’s there with some help from you.

You will need to keep sucking that stuff out until the good guy stuff, outcompete that bad crap which will happen as a result of your stable chemistry.

This is my latest test using the Hanna HI97115.

Lights are on from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. It's a 300 gallon tank with 6 Hydra 32. The challenge with the tank, which is of custom size, is the height. It's 32 inches tall so the lights have to travel more.
