Canada, fluke, praziquantel.

I put my 2 new firefish under observation. Everything seemed "correct". I put them in the DT. But now one of the 2 has what seems to me to be 2 flukes on the body. I would like to know what are the options with the praziquantel "in tank" if I can't catch it?
(I preferably go whit hyposalinity... but could be hard to catch)

Do the instructions on the bag make sense?

I have 55gallons net system.
So 0.009x55 =0.495 gram. (Doesn't seem right)
Should i remove uv in treatment ?

please post pics and/or video under white light intensity. Often you wont see flukes with named eye but instead symptoms such as yawning, rapid breathing, loss of appetite, cloudy eyes and sudden darting as examples. This is why observation is not recommended as you have them in quarantine already and have lost days of potential preventative treatment

More comprehensive inf on fluke X:

Praziquantel is a very effective and safe treatment for skin flukes, gill flukes (dactylogyrus) and tape worms. This product is pure and only a little amount is needed for effective treatment, therefore is very economic as well.
Directions
Add 1 level spoon (included) (0.33 g) for every 66 liter (17 US gal). The treatment should continue for 8 days. In case you need to make water changes you need to re-dose according to the amount of new wa- ter only.
Tips:
1- For a more effective treatment raise the temperature to 28-29 C if your fish can handle it. This will ac- celerate the life cycle of Dactylogyrus to make sure all all life stages of the parasite have reached adult- hood and are killed.
2- The addition of salt at the rate of 1g/L during the treatment will enhance it’s effectiveness by removing the mucus that could help shield the parasite from the medication.

Remove carbon and UV during treatment. The normal dose is 2.2 mg/l, so essentially the same as your calculation. However, you need to follow the instructions on the package as their product may have excipients or binders in it, affecting the active dose.

Edit: in looking again, the label says "100%" active ingredient.....

I just got home from work... there's nothing left, no trace on the firefish...
it's 22 hours later... huh?
I wasn't there to see the tank before.
But i can estimate that "the thing" remained "visible" for a maximum of 48 hours on the fish. is that possible?

Hmmm ?... 0 of that was observe.
Fish act normal, eating etc...

Ps: fish are now in my tank. (10days in)

LFS was having them for at least 7 days, they keep the fish system at 1.019sg.
(Since the last 10years i always buy fish from them, never had problems, i know... but...)

I keep the new fish in the holding tank ( same system as DT) for around 5 days... everything looking good so... i put them in DT.
I just see "the thing" on them after 10 days in tank.

@Patx I live not too far from Montreal so we must buy our fish from the same places. Would you be comfortable telling me where you bought them, so I can avoid this place? You can write me in private if you prefer, or just write part of the name and I should recognize it.

I can also tell you where I buy my fish. Only from two places.

Like i said i never had problem with that place. Ever !
