While you can, metro also treats for parasites (internal/external) as well as bacteria and would be caution me to mix

People have done this, but I prefer not to overlap medications that have similar activity (anti protozoal).
Instead of adding metro to the water, how about mixing it up into gel diet or Focus at a rate of 0.50% metro in the food and then feed the fish that food every three days for three treatments.

While doing the copper safe or after, because I would like to give metro to the new fish just in case they have any internal parasites?

Oral metro is fine during coppersafe.

One more question, what do you mean by gel diet I’ve never head of that?

Gel diet is just a bound food that serves as a vehicle for medications. Many aquarists soak their food in medication, but that is a huge mistake as the medication then rinses right back off. In gel diet, most of the medication is bound up wiht the food.

Here is a link to my article on medicated food. About a third of the way through is a recipe for gel diet.
