can you mix marine salt

been using instant ocean for my saltwater tanks, but recently bought a peacock mantis shrimp. After doing research I've found that it doesn't contain calcium which my mantis shrimp needs. The problem is its tank is already set up and cycled with instant ocean can i change salt mixes by doing small water changes (10-20%) without causing harm to it. i have attached a picture of my mantis the day i got it from the pet store.

Instant ocean does contain calcium. Some salts do more than others though. Generally they're all about the same thing, just in varying concentration of different elements.

would getting the reef crystal instead of just the normal one be better for the mantis shrimp or am i fine with sticking to the normal IO

Reef crystals just contains a higher amount of some of those elements mentioned. It depends on where you want to keep your parameters as well as your water change frequency.

It all comes down to where your parameters are and where you want them to be.

I've been mixing IO and RC for 2 years or so. No problems from mixing it. The only reason I started mixing it was because I scored a bunch of each on sale.

nice i don't remember where i read it but maybe it was people complaining that the calcium was lower than expected.
