So it turns out that I was right (spectrum-wise). Turn the Blue channel to 75-80%, UV, Violet and Cyan (Green) to 100%, then add in whatever White and Red you like (but I'd match their percentages, i.e. Both set to 50% or 60% or whatever).

It sure makes a nice spectrum graph that way. :D
I will try this and post in the chat, my seneye has a spectrum sensor so I can get a basic line and PUR rating. At my current ratio, I only get around 77% pur. Was setting up in my 20 Long frag tank this weekend and got 80 - 110 par throughout the racks. Settings blue/cyan/uv/violet to 70%, white to 40% and red to 10%. I can def turn down the blues and see if anything changes

I would not trust this on a 75g. That tank is 21 inches deep. There is no optics on this to penetrate the water and it’s slim no fan form factor means the leds can only be so powerful before they would burn up.

Also best to have a more powerful light ran on lower settings than a weak one ran closer to max. Less wear and tear.

This is a nano tank light imo. Suitable for long shallow tanks.

While soft corals and live under low light, most will certainly appreciate higher lights and you will get less stretching of Zoas and toadstools.

This would be an extreme downgrade from t5s. T5s perform amazing. They just have bulb changes and heat.
I am curious to see if someone can test one of these on a 75 gal, I think you are correct and 2 may be needed. At that pricing, would be best to consider what alternatives compare!

As far as lifetime is concerned, I hope to get a few years out of these and will be happy but time will tell! If they lasted 5 years, well I just want the company making them to last as long too!

That is the only worry I have being a light controlled on an app. Needs regular updates or I just need to have an old phone that I never update to act as my controller xD (which presumably may not work if the data is tied to a server and not hosted locally as well).

Great recommendation, I run them as seen below.
may update the red/white to be matching as you stated, and perhaps turn down the darker blues...
IMG_2631.jpeg

Based on that, I'd probably do 60/100/100/60/100/80. Without seeing the light and tank in person, it's hard for me to judge how "white" that would be, but based on your settings it looks like you don't mind that much.

The basic schedules I currently run on my tanks now would look like below on this light...

8:30am - 0/0/0/0/0/0
11:00am - 0/100/100/0/100/80
1:30pm - 60/100/100/60/100/80
5:30pm - 60/100/100/60/100/80
8:00pm - 0/100/100/0/100/80
10:30pm - 0/0/0/0/0/0

My friend has done a full analysis of the light, but I won't post anything until he gives me the go-ahead. Suffice it to say he actually likes it. A lot. It'd be a great fill light as a supplement, but it also is good as a primary if you can meet your PAR needs with it (or add more of them until you can).

I'm thinking about getting one to run on my 30g anemone tank to replace my Primes. It'd keep more light in the tank and less in the room. Just not sure how the mount would work with a screen top. It'd be fun to play with the "zones" on the longer strips too. I bet you could really get the PAR evened out from end to end.

I do like a whiter light during the day. Typically I am not home but when I am, I like how my fiji yellow looks @Hooz ! I am trying to get a koji wada as well. Hoping you can release the analysis results soon! As far the screen top, we may need something custom, I can 3d print my screen in pieces and glue it together, that is my plan. I have a lot of stuff sticking out of my tank, with the overflow box and return, so its hard to make anything else work.

In regards to primes, kessils, etc. That was my major concern for any tank I had that wasnt 2' deep, just so much light spill or hotspots from placing too close surface. Plus worry about salt creep from the random splashes that something happen.

For the easily available (and affordable) aqueon or visio tanks, I think this light is a perfect match. I hope we can have a fellow member report back on experience with a 55 or 75 gallon tank.

10, 20, 20L, and 29g seem to be a good fit. The first two I havent tested but can do if I decide to keep my 10 gal up. The latter two I am currently happy with par and spread, as wel as color in the tank.

Does anyone think we can have the engineers of this light add a "Moonlight Simulation" feature? They did add a nighttime light feature after I asked about it. Allows me to run a lower blue only light after the ramp down for a few hours to enjoy the colors of my tank, since I do run white during the day.

I was thinking of suggesting like a % of the night time set depending on the phase of the moon, eg - 100% (of 7% or whatever you set the night time at) on a full moon vs 0% on a new moon.

Thoughts?

Alright. . . Now we wait

IMG_2113.jpeg
what light schedule are you using? I decided to try out @Hooz recommendation with some slight variation on Auto Pro (Limits 7 settings)

8:00am - 0/0/0/0/0/0
9:00am - 0/100/100/0/100/100
11:00am - 21/100/100/42/100/100
3:00pm - 21/100/100/42/100/100
5:00pm - 0/100/100/0/100/100
6:00pm - 0/0/7/0/0/0
10:30pm - 0/0/0/0/0/0

Channels are Red/Cyan/Blues/White/UVA/Violet for reference.

Any reason to have the UV on 50%? Also is your software up to date?
I usually try and base my spectral profile on high-end lighting spectrum profiles/reef spectrum profiles.

My understanding is the UV in this light is 395 nm, so I dialed back to better match this:

The ratio of LED (based on the lighting schedule) is

7/14/35/14/7/7

Did you base your estimate off of this as well?

This seems promising, I have a standard Aqueon 20L. My biggest question is, does this have adequate physical controls so that if the app ever died the light would still work?

I posted about this before as my main concern. The answer is no. However I hope that glowrium can become a success staple in the lighting game so that this never happens

I’ve already read through this whole thread, but I must have read too quickly and missed that! Have you seen this same light being sold under different names by other manufacturers? Or anything similar, other alternatives? Or did Glowrium literally put the R&D into this and create it from scratch? It is just interesting to learn about! The concept of having the thermometer on there as well is a great concept. If this really is a company that put in the work and is trying to “disrupt the market” (little bit of an overused term), then I’d love to support them.

Right now I have a cheap Nicrew on my 20L, and it’s not terrible, but things certainly could be doing better. I wouldn’t be surprised if the PAR is terribly low. This would certainly be much better. Recently got dinos too (small cell Amphidinium) that I am chasing down, but that’s not related to my lighting probably :)

36-48” and 48-60” are on sale it seems.

Does anyone know how long the “light portion” of the light is? AKA, how much space is between the farthest ends of the LEDs?

I was wondering if buying a 36-48” and putting it on a 30” tank would work, or if there would be LEDs hanging over the edge of the tank. The 36-48” is the same price as the 30-36” right now!

I have a 30" tank and the 30-36" model works perfect. With the mounts. Buying a larger one will need to configure a different mount setup which idk could work?

Ill measure if you want to know. But even at the same price, id get the one sized for the tank.
