Good day all,
I recently plumbed a trigger CR-44 sump into my new system, but the included plumbing isn’t adding up. I feel like I’m missing something here.
It comes with male and female adapters with O-rings instead of bulkheads. For the 3 - 1.5” drains, they were spears sch 80 female and sch 40 female. I would think the thread would be the same but all 3 sets would lock up with 1/2” or so to go. Wouldn’t get close to squeezing the acrylic plate. I ordered 3 spears female adapters and it was much better. One tighter up on the place and the other is snug enough.
For the 1” return they put a doubler on the acrylic mount. This solves the issue of the adapters not tightening up on the plate, but if you use the included O-ring you only get 1-2 threads into the female side.
I ended up removing the O-ring and tightening the adapters onto the acrylic. I fired up the return pump for the first time this evening, and the return leaked at the adapters. I pulled it apart and put the O-ring back in and it leaked much worse. The drains had no leaks but I wasn’t able to run the pump for any significant amount of time.
I suppose I should have replaced them but I’m past that now! At this point I think my only option is to remove the acrylic double with a bandsaw. Anyone know what I’m missing?
I did reach out to trigger but haven’t received a response.
