Earlier this year I started using a @geo Kalk stirrer, my god this thing is incredible. Beyond it being a work of art, like the rest of his stuff, but the functionality is incredible. If equipment makes it 30 days in my household, that’s a good sign. So, nearly 4 months ago I was going out of country for 3 weeks. In my typically “what could could wrong” philosophical way I live my life I put about 2 pounds of kalk in the reactor. The reactor didn’t skip a beat by the way. I have it set to store for 18 seconds every 20 minutes through out the day (using OCS). It’s been pegged at 12.4 up until 3 days ago, I’m at 12.1. I can clearly see lots of kalk in the reactor. However, it’s looking very grey. I’ve not calibrated the probe in about 3 weeks, I do it when I do my other probes which is about once a month. Should I quarterly dump this mix and start over? Does the color matter? 12.1 to me looks like it’s starting to not be as potent as it was.

It’s hard for me to gauge on my tank. Consumption is far from what it was 2 weeks ago. I broke this 130g tank down and have everything in a stock tank waiting on my new 400g peninsula to get here :)

It will be less potent as time goes on.

I'm not 100% sure of the mechanics behind it but it does get used up. Like any chemical being saturated with water the potency will go down.
