Can I use Stainless Steel Screening Sheet into sump filter?

Hi, i'm totally new to saltwater tank world. Can I use Stainless Steel Screening Sheet instead of general filter socks into my sump?

no its metal it still will rust and leach into tank. anything metal is a big no in saltwater

I would look at plastic mesh, even 316 will eventually corrode.

There are various grades of stainless - the Steinhart Aquarium in San Fran had some issues with stainless check valves even though their rating suggested they were safe for use in seawater. Short answer - avoid it. Go with socks or polyester mesh.

saltwater and sun ruin everything. aluminum corrodes rather quickly as well
