Hi All--
I've had my Melanurus Wrasse for 5-6 years. I got it when it was not an adult-size fish. I just recently (within the past few weeks) got a Rock Flower Anemone. It moved about 4-5 inches from where I first placed it at the bottom of the tank, between a rock and the sand. I found my Melanurus Wrasse dead this morning, about 2 inches from the Anemone, on some Zoas just above the Anemone. I don't know how long Melanurus Wrasses should live, so I suppose it might not be related to the Anemone. But it seems WAY too coincidental that shortly after I get the Anemone, I find a fish dead just a couple of inches away from it. I wonder if either the Wrasse was curious and nosing around (like I have seen it do around the tank many times) and ended up sticking it's nose into the Anemone and getting stung to the point where it was too much for it. Or, it's possible that the Wrasse swam into it when it got spooked (that Wrasse does exhibit that behavior--of easily being spooked--on a regular basis),
Has anyone ever had the experience of losing a fish to a Rock Flower Anemone? I know folks have said numerous times that they lost fish to a Maxi Mini Carpet Anemone.
