About the size of a $1 coin, molted about 2 weeks after we got it. I throw no less than a dozen of these back in when I set my pin fish traps. Setting up a tank and wanted to cycle my rock islands to help with my tank cycle. Will say he has taken to us quite well, he hides a lot by nature. He comes out when we are around since he has associated us with food. The availible knowledge about them is sketchy based on what he eats. Fresh chunks of fish is his go to, no algae in the tank due to nothing but ambient light from a window. He will not touch nori or fresh shrimp, loves the fresh pieces of filet fish about the size of a black eye pea that we give him. Plan on returning him to St. joe bay in October unless wife wants to keep him.
