Ha! Funny story about Scottsdale. So I spent about 3 weeks in Phoenix a few years back for work. I was onboarding new distributors for Pepperidge Farm bread division and I was one of the ones selected from around the US to come in and launch into that market. When we all arrived, they took us out to a nice Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale. I didn't realize how small Phoenix proper actually is. Anywho, we are out to dinner in Scottsdale and I mentioned something along the lines of "here in Phoenix" and someone from Scottsdale corrected me. "No, you're not in Phoenix, you're in Scottsdale" with some pompous air, all the while I'm thinking, "you live in the desert, it's all the same, who cares?"

Meanwhile, I technically live in an area outside of Houston called The Woodlands. It's not part of Houston and has a lot of money in this area, same as Scottsdale. ExxonMobile is located here, for example. I grew up in a poorer area Houston and we always joked about how lame The Woodlands Bubble is and how if you just said "Woodlands" then they would correct you. "No, it's The Woodlands." My wife and I are out to dinner not long after I got home from the Phoenix trip, and someone at a bar we were at said "Woodlands". I corrected them and said it's "The Woodlands", and halfway through saying it, I thought of that lady that corrected me in Scottsdale, and realized I had become what I used to make fun of haha!

I have more Phoenix stories about funny things I saw while I was there, but those are for another time. I was staying in a nice hotel near Sky Harbor, but working in the Peoria/Surprise area. I think @tbrown lives up there, IIRC.

That's so funny but it's so true. Everyone wants to say ion from scottsdale because of money and it's honestly ridiculous! Do you know the name of the restaurant you went to? Plus did you like it? Ive also met a couple of reefers from AZ which is awesome!
