I’d really suggest trying to start with a 20G if you have to start this hobby in a Nano. Most excellent!! I'm glad to know this is a nano! That's about the size I'm looking to start with. I know starting small can be harder for noobs because of water chemistry but I'm squeezed for space at the moment which makes a nano ideal and why I wanted to be sure I was crystal clear in managing the water. Do you just keep corals or fish and others as well? That was my next area of focus... Livestock. I figured I could start cycling the tank while I sort out what can be kept in a 10g.
this IM is one of the best AIO bangs for your bucks.
the return pump is a mini DC pump as well which is alone almost worth it, just for that “feed buttton”

I wouldn’t keep more than 2-3 fish in a 10.
In a 20L you could bump that to 5 with some peaceful ones.
in my 10G I just have a clown pair.
Once it’s matured I may add a dragonet for fun. But that’s way down the road, I’ll be cultivating pods by then.
if you click on my build thread tag you can see my 10G
