Calcium reactor vs sulfur denitrator

My Seapora sulfur denitrator started leaking last week. The leak was coming from the connection/o-ring at the front of the recirculation pump.

I would have just ordered the oring from them, but Seapora seems to have gone the way of the Dodo, and this is the only one with the pump on the bottom so it's a unique design. I'm an auto tech so I have a big assortment of orings. I tried one that was very close and as soon as it made contact the inlet to the pump cracked. Now I am not sure if was the pump that was brittle or the oring.

Either way, it's an old style Sicce (all the current models are different) 1.5 which I can't find. And the oring is probably a weird size that I can't measure after 3 years.

The Aquamaxx TS-2 looks to be discontinued, but the Aquamaxx T-2 calcium reactor is available. The look to be identical except for 1 extra port (for CO2) on top.

Am I correct about this?

Is this the one you have? If so, couldn't you just replace the pump with any pump you like and plumb it into the existing unions?

Mine is just like that except the bigger one. It has a sicce 1.5 on it. The problem is that the part on the right threads into the volute on the pump. See the picture. Also the union is glued onto the pump. I also want to change the oring.

The new sicce pumps don't look like this one anymore. I'm not sure how the union is glued, or what size it is. It might be metric.

The problem is that there isn't much variation to play with. If I could still get the old style sicce pump, I'd do it in a second. I don't want to fabricate too much with something that I run externally and get a leak.

The new pump will come with the o-ring. The part that is glued in is the input adapter for the sicce pump.

I'll have to look at it when I get it.

I'm talking about the part on top that is glued into the union. Does that unscrew from the pump?

Yes, It should unscrew from the pump and it will look just like the other side with another o-ring.

Oh, cool. I ordered the pump I should have it on Saturday and I'll swap it out. I'm not sure if it was the oring around the volute or the oring on the part that threads in. If I get new orings and it's the same size then I will be in business.

Back in business. I used a lot of water cleaning all the sludge out of the sulfur.

I have some more prills on order. It's actually churning in some spots. I don't think that's good. Will it grind itself like carbon? I will just fill in the voids with more sulfur when I get it.

Glad to here you are back uo and running. It should not be churning. Do you have the sulfur weighted down with Ca reactor media?

I have plastic bio balls on top of the top plate. I have the ARM on a phosban 550 that the effluent goes through.

When I get my sulfur prills I'll add it into the voids.
