I had purchased a full replacement set of filters for my Kent Marine RO/DI unit in Miami FL at a LFS. I was running about 3-4 on my TDS handheld meter so I decided to change all filters and also the Membrane, I installed the new Membrane, and other filters including the DI Resin cartridge, after about 5 Gal of flow I broke out the Ole TDS meter and saw TDS levels at or above 6, high as 9. I was like what the heck, brand new filters and worse levels. I decided that the DI Resin must have been bad so I ordered the 10" re-fillable DI canister along with 1 refill package of their DI Resin, It arrived today in the mail, I followed the directions, LOL, kinda figured to place the resin inside the canister, anyways, after removing the junk DI cartridge and installing the new one from BRS, my levels are spot on, most importantly, TDS, 0. I will order all of my needed supplies from BRS from now on. Just thought i'd share my experience with you guys.
PS: I cannot remember the name of the DI Resin I bought that was crappy, it comes in a cheaply heat shrunk clear friable package, it was completely clear and had not taper, the O-Ring was extremely thick and white, it actually made it really difficult to tighten the canister enough to get a good seal, there was like some blue and orange, maybe even some like coral background on the paper that was wrapped around the DI cartridge. If you run across this cheap, I think like 30 Bucks for the DI cartridge, stay away. JMHO from exp.
