Bugs swarming on glass that look like gnats

These appear to be little white bugs that look and behave like gnats out of water but are in the water. They swarm on the glass if here is a light nearby. What are they? Do the copepods do this?

yes them are probably copods.

From the description I'd say almost certainly copepods. In some tanks with no fish (mine) I've seen amphipods behave this way, but it's not common at all IME.

I tried to get pics but my camera couldn't capture them in the low light. When I turned on the light the vanished. I do know I have copepods and amphipods in my system because I put them there but I had never seen them swarm. Is there a point where you could have too many? They look like little white specks with a tail and twitch a lot.

Okay. I was worried. LOL, you never know if you've got something bad going on in there :) Thanks, I guess a manderine will soon be finding a home in my tank.
